The ISSCL’s most recent event was 2013 Children’s Literature Seminar, “There and Back Again: Heritage and Horizons.”

The seminar took place at Pearse Street Library, Dublin 2, on Saturday, March 9th 2013 from 10am to 2.30pm.

Our keynote speaker was Éilis Ní Dhuibhne, with panel contributions from Gráinne Clear (RTE Junior radio), Máire Kennedy (Dublin City Libraries), Patricia Kennon (Froebel College of Education) Anne Markey (TCD), Ríona Nic Congail (St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra) Clíona Ó Gallchoir (UCC) and Catherine Smith (An Foras Feasa, NUIM). We discussed the current position of children’s literature criticism in Ireland, as well as the archives and resources available to researchers. We also welcomed new committee member Ríona Nic Conghail (St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra) on board, and look forward to working with her over the next two years.

See our conference page for more information.
